Notice

Aligning twenty-four aphorisms is a paradox, since an aphorism in principle designates a rather brief and self-sufficient statement. These aphorisms do have some occasional similarities, for example in the use of silences; in their assembly they also deliver some sketches, or illusions, of fluidity, but the brevity of their average duration of one minute each underlines above all their almost incoherent diversity. Can we then link them to an “aesthetic of the fragment” that includes Pascal, Nietzsche or the koans? Yes and no. They have generally imposed themselves on me without me managing to integrate them into a rhetoric. Music is definitely no longer, or not always, a language. But why should we listen to it?
