Notice
This work of electroacoustic music is neither the result of an experiment nor even the stage of a research project. Coming after a number of more rigorous compositions, it merely reflects, with the discretion of chamber music, the composer’s love of all the sounds of fire and water, which are paradoxically so similar at times. In fact, these were deliberately omitted from the work, but the sound materials chosen for this stylisation are subject to similar laws.
The general form is also inspired by natural phenomena. This is why the listener finds himself in the presence of a realm of sound that he is invited to enter, without the obligatory itinerary of a musical discourse being imposed upon him.
Terre de feu accompanied Teresa Trujillo’s ballet Kinesis, premiered on 6 February 1965 in Grenoble. It was first performed in concert on 22 September 1966, during the Warsaw Autumn Festival.
